So I’m Japanese, so my friends sometimes ask me if I find these mixed phrases cringe, like “arigathanks gozaimuch” and “oats curry”

日本語部分だけについて。

季語「秋風」から、「ひやり」は夏からの季節の推移、それまでの暑さの中から見つけた冬へ向かう変化、かしら。

「帰り道」は「急かす」を受けているのに切迫感がなく、むしろどことなく変化を喜んでもいるような。

今の四季を表現する難しさと楽しさとが共存している句だと思った。
