So of course having adopted BlueSky partly due to the *lack* of algorithm, I've made myself one for "trending" dogs... 🙄 bsky.app/profile/did:...
...and now WITH the hashtag #DogsOfBlueSky
richardbj.bsky.social
Oh my, congratulations on leaving up right! I must have seen you in passing on your last day without realising! All the very best!!

Could you not just use DeepFake technology to replace Greg Wallace with Carrie Fisher?

TLDR for me… but is the graph saying pet owners start lower?

The specific part of my brain Freddie is boosting is the yelling—shut—up—area. Generally.

Cats & dogs may be exercising more than just your patience: they could be keeping parts of your brain ticking over too.

Researchers have found that owning a 4-pawed friend may slow cognitive decline, by preserving specific brain functions as we age.

Owning dog or cat could preserve some brain functions as we age, study says
Fish or bird ownership showed no significant link to slower cognitive decline in study with implications for ageing societies

This video shows the passage of my puppy smuggling bill, from raising the issue my maiden speech to the third reading in Parliament yesterday.

I'm so proud to have delivered this massive win for animal welfare exactly a year after becoming an MP!

Lib Dem MP @DannyChambers.bsky.social's Private Members' Bill has passed in the House of Commons! 🐶

This bill will ban puppy smuggling and mutilation. This is a huge step forward in protecting our pets and people alike.

It’s a cool encounter! …but he wasn’t Swiss. Surely like Liverpool claiming to have won the 2023 Eurovision, because we hosted it?
richardbj.bsky.social
#Eurovision… and Switzerland invented… the internet???

Whereabouts are you seeing that wording Ewan?

Which trending feed was that? I thinking giving the Met some cheese is a great idea though.
richardbj.bsky.social
Found a new trick to see *why trending* on bsky at least. Running bsky in Edge, click on the trending topic then ask copilot to summarise?
May save me quite a bit of scrolling of a morning!

I see ClaudeAI are now advertising $200 a month plan! That seems extraordinarily expensive doesn’t it?

A near universal annoyance of sci-fi. Helmet lights point in which would render the wearer blind to anything outside of the helmet! Always style over substance.

These rockhopper penguins have had it easy for too long, and dont get me started on so called King penguins. Who do they think they are strutting about like they were emperors?
About time we sorted them out.
Tariffs #tariffs

I do wonder what the penguins are exporting to the USA to create the surplus/deficit, perhaps snow?? America not proving very successful at selling snow to Antarctica?
richardbj.bsky.social
@fullfact.org another one for your list?

Not much being said on what the Trump Tariff table (LHS) really shows? It is distributed widely, but what is the column on the left? Buried on the BBC website it suggests =round(100 x (trade surplus)/GDP)? Seems strange to get so little discussion. Deficit does not equal tariff or barrier obvs.

An image is being shared online with claims it shows a man who came to the UK by boat and is taking the government to court over his housing.

But it’s actually a 2016 stock photo from Malaysia. We’ve found no evidence of such a legal challenge.
Image shared with claim about family in London is 2016 stock photo from Malaysia - Full Fact
Social media posts have claimed the photo shows the family of a person called “Khalil”, who supposedly arrived in the UK by boat and lives in a five-bed home in north London.

There is an irony, is there not, in an employer sending emails to staff about compulsory cyber-security training courses… that contain an html link to an external site…. that one is supposed to click to do the course?
richardbj.bsky.social
A bit late on this, but it’s cool. Who gets it!?
