Please @societyofvertpaleo.bsky.social is there a chance you could schedule the annual business meeting when people outside the Americas could attend at a reasonable time? Scheduling at 1 pm ET would allow west coasters to attend in business hours & allow more easterly & westerly members to attend

Leicester has long been one of the leading universities nationally for palaeontology & geology - this would be a terrible loss, as would the loss of other subjects such as modern languages:

Here's my #2025SVP photo album. It starts with @fossilrob.bsky.social giving his talk, and an amazing photo of him and @profpaulbarrett.bsky.social from c. 2009 when he first started the work (1/n)

We asked @dremmanicholls.bsky.social what exactly needs to happen for dinosaur footprints to be preserved like those found in Oxfordshire.

The answer is such a specific set of circumstances you'll be amazed that any have been found at all...

The end of the final event of #2025SVP - it's been an amazing experience hosting it, thanks so much to everyone involved in helping make it happen. Back to the day job tomorrow.
It's the end of the #2025SVP UK dinos field trip. We finished with a visit to Dewars Farm dinosaur track site (muddy), and the Oxford Uni Museum, where we were lucky enough to get a tour of the Buckland archives and collections. Home for sleep...

What a great time at this yearโ€™s @societyofvertpaleo.bsky.social meeting in Birmingham!

Presenting a talk on mammals, doing the conference-opening Walking With Dinosaurs and the schools events, helming the scicomm table, beaming with pride as my students presented their work, honoring Mark & Dugie.

Gorgeous day on the Isle of Wight looking at footprints, prospecting, and examining some previously discovered fossils on our post- #2025SVP UK dinos fieldtrip. I told you it was sunnier down south... Big thanks @valdosaurus.bsky.social

This would put poster presenters in direct competition those organising the auction. Also, many of us duck out for other social events from around 7 onwards & would not attend later poster sessions.
