Hard game to analyse overall. Spurs started poorly. Steadily improved second half. Eventually got 2-1 up. Would have been a smash and grab. But they should have hung on. And they didn't.

Always fascinating to see people say this as if it matters in the US electoral system
In 2016, more people voted for Hillary Clinton for president than voted for Donald Trump.

This! When you say "Listen, Reagan and the Bushes and Trump are the same," you're actually reassuring low-info voters that Trump isn't a crazy choice, because unlike Bluesky folks, millions of Americans would vote for those guys again.
They didn't understand that "this isn't your parent's GOP" is exactly why Biden won. Because comparing Trump to Reagan is to almost all conservatives, an in kind donation to Trump.

But pointing out the voters principles weren't what changed, it was the party that broke their pledge to them, works.
People can't seem to grasp that difference, which is in part how the left started to lose the public (who to this day don't see Reagan the same way they do). "Reagan is the same as Trump" is like a free ad for Trump.

I agree with this assessment of Poilievre. He can't seem to stop himself from the barbs and quips that, while clever, diminish his stature as a future PM. Time for the Conservative Party to close that chapter.

I am sure we would have different outcomes if the shutdown included freezing the compensation for senators, congress representatives, and their staff.
Why is it that the livelihoods of federal workers or the healthcare of millions of people always end up on the chopping block, but never the trillions in tax cuts handed out to billionaires and massive corporations?
Trump warns that 'a lot' of federal workers could be laid off in a government shutdown looming at midnight Sept. 30.

A pretty clear indictment of America's willingness to capitulate to a bullying dictator to protect its narrow self-interest. Not sure how this is making America great again. #trump #kimmel #autocracy
Jimmy Kimmel’s refusal to capitulate to Donald Trump stands out because so many other well-situated people have surrendered, withdrawn, or become Trump sycophants themselves, Adam Serwer argues.
