BREAKING: After successfully forcing a vote, Democrats have officially passed their bill to extend lifesaving Affordable Care Act subsidies in the House.

The bill now heads to the Senate.

The House just decisively passed legislation that restores the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

Over the objection of Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson.

If you don’t know, now you know.

It really is quite something watching people scream about Democrats voting for a judge that was always going to be confirmed, seemingly oblivious to the idea that this is what it's going to cost them to get Republicans to join them in stopping Trump.

Because it's the only option voters gave them.

Tonight — thanks to all of YOU — House Democrats did something many thought impossible.

We forced the Republican-controlled House to vote on extending healthcare tax credits for working families.

And it PASSED.

The Senate must now do the same.

I can't remember if it were Pierce or Tony that suggested that Mills simply ignore every primary candidate and instead focus on Collins, but it seems to be working.
BINGO from Janet Mills: My problem with Susan Collins is that she never does the right or hard thing the first time when it’s needed most – only when it serves her politically – and we always pay the price. Once again, she is a day late and a dollar short.

In the years since, I've watched Gabby fight her way back with a strength that inspires me every day. Her courage, and the courage of the other survivors, reminds us why we can’t accept gun violence in our everyday lives.

The killing of an unarmed woman by a masked federal agent in Minneapolis is a moral outrage and a betrayal of American values. There has been no justification offered—only deception and deflection from those in charge.

Somehow this is just exactly what I needed today.
CNN graphics put the asterisk in the wrong place, it appears…

This image is all you need to see to debunk the ICE agent's claim.

Bullets fly straight from the barrel into their target, and pass through glass at an angle perpendicular to their point of entry (in most cases).

IF the officer was being rammed, the holes would be in the center of the windshield.

He doesn't care if he's impeached, because he'll do what he did last time: refuse to testify, and cry about it being fake while his goons threaten enough senators to make sure that he doesn't get convicted.

Then when it fails, he'll scream vindication.

He just wants to make the midterms about him.
Voters, we know what we have to do now.

We'll continue demanding Trump fulfill his promise to "take care of" survivors through a federal aid package.

We will continue shaping our recovery around the real needs of our communities.

And we will continue showing up and doing the work to move forward and recover.

Just a friendly reminder: not only does the majority decide what hearings are held, they decide whether or not they're open or closed chambers.
I just left the Venezuela briefing.

It's worse than you thought.

Oil company executives seem to know more about Trump's secret plan to "run" Venezuela than the American people.

We need public Senate hearings NOW.

Collective punishment is bad, except when Jews get murdered.

Killing civilians is unacceptable, except when they’re Jewish kids.

Ethnic groups aren’t a monolith, except that tiny one that celebrates Chanukah.

If you don’t apply your values consistently, you never believed in them at all.

Hot(tish) take:

Before the recent SCOTUS ruling, this was a much more risky option because Trump could just federalize those guard members on a whim.

The SCOTUS ruling saying "no, you need a reason beyond vibes" changes the calculation in the state's favor.
It looks like Tim Walz is not playing.

"I've issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard… these National Guard troops are our National Guard troops. Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as a prop in a national political fight."

And half of the other party prefers to yell about rhetoric and messaging on their side instead of attack them for it.

And no, they can't do two things at once.

They simply have not once shown the ability to hold Republicans responsible for their conduct.
The only reason an administration is surviving the scandals that have happened **this week alone** is because an entire political party has sold its mortal soul and abandoned any sense of decency or restraint in service to a lout.

Kristi Noem is a stone-cold liar who has zero credibility.

There is nothing to suggest the shooting of an unarmed woman in Minneapolis was justified.

This heinous killing must be criminally investigated to the full extent of the law.
