i’ve seen some “it’s not your money!” reaction from people defending OBAA’s box office, and yes that’s true, but just saying it doesn’t matter at all if a movie makes money is a little short sighted. but for THIS movie, i actually do not think it matters.

unlike some, i think box office numbers are kind of interesting, perfectly natural to care about them. however, i don’t think WB thought this was going to make a bajillion dollars when they greenlit it. they knew it was a PTA movie. i think they think its okay if it loses money short term.
