We want to see children’s rights prioritized above polluting flights. Every sector needs to play its part in tackling climate change, including aviation. Increasing flights is reckless in the face of the climate emergency.

It is grossly negligent for a national broadcaster to report on Ryanair’s profit margins without once mentioning emissions, given it is one of Europe’s biggest CO₂ emitters.

This is not journalism. It is head in the sand reporting with a generous helping of free corporate PR.
Musk row a negotiation that became a 'PR gift' - O'Leary
Ryanair's spat with Elon Musk was a "public negotiation that turned into a huge PR gift", according to group CEO Michael O'Leary.

'Flying less is the second most effective action individuals can take to reduce emissions and climate impact'.

So why on earth is the Irish Government actively encouraging even more polluting flights via a proposed lifting of the Dublin Airport cap and re-introducing internal flights to Derry?

😮We don't recall Ireland's high outbound tourism being acknowledged when 'economic' arguments were being used for our Government to bypass planning processes on the Dublin Airport Cap, and push for expansion of polluting aviation. Do you?

Only about 10% of the world's population has ever flown. Yet, the aviation industry is responsible for roughly 2–4% of global CO₂ emissions. Does that seem fair?

Why should our flights around the world be subsidised and encouraged at such a cost to the planet?

This must change.
Opinion: Expanding Dublin Airport now would fly in the face of climate reality
Letting various aviation expenses to go untaxed has made air travel artificially cheap despite its massive drain on the environment, writes Aoife O’Leary.

This week, we launched WeWingAnyCar.com to help you qualify for the same tax breaks that private jets get.
