And it's been my experience after a couple decades of consulting in large organizations that decisions to enshittify products are almost always rewarded by management.

The impact on sales takes months to years for enshittification to manifest as reduced demand, but the cost savings are immediate.
Literally everything I buy these days is defective and/or a complete raging piece of shit. Everything is MDF flat pack or plastic crap. Product quality is lower than at any point of time in my life.
