Beginning January 1, 2026, the City of Ottawa will no longer be responsible for collecting your blue and black bin.
Under regulations from the Government of Ontario, recycling is going provincial.

6.6 million thank yous to the Ontario Lottery Gaming Corp for visiting the Hunt Club Riverside Park Community Centre yesterday.
This represents the City's share of proceeds from the Hard Rock Casino on Albion Road for 2025 that refurbish aged community centres across the city.

The stormwater pond in Celebration Park is currently estimated to contain 1,000 goldfish.
The City of Ottawa will be removing the fish next week.

In the late winter (2025), the City pulled approx 5,000 dead goldfish from this pond.

The origins of the fish remain a mystery.
