Based on a scene from a fic I wrote a year ago of Krile and Rivi during their Studium days 💖🏳️‍⚧️ #riviart

My WoL, Rivière, a blue-haired transfem Lalafell, and Krile, as they were while students at Sharlayan's Studium in uniform (although Krile still has her signature hood). They're looking into a mirror together at a little makeover Krile gave Rivi - a flower in their hair, and a cute bow-knot for their scarf. Krile smiles warmly and has a hand on Rivière's shoulder, while Rivi stares wide-eyed at their reflection, mesmerized and blushing.

Finally found this comparison I caught of the three of them from when I was finishing DT months back! It's a little misleading though due to Rivi's posture and Mashi's slightly more forward position.

Rivière is close to min-height, but not all the way. Actually about the same height as Krile last I checked! Still statistically very lucky for a transfem Lala, but idc I want to be smol

Mashi, incidentally, is at the min-height exactly so Rivi has an inch or two on her and I find that super cute

The only face mod I have on my Lala is the thickest brow mod I could find that isn't nearly enough, so this would just happily replace that!

The only lasting physical effect is flashes that briefly engulf them when met with bright light, like the sun or a very close lantern, causing short fainting spells if they aren't careful. Thankfully rare, and actually slowly decreasing!

Way less of a problem than the lasting emotional trauma 🙃

The pain was strong, yet almost numbed by itself in a way over time. If jostled from their trances they'd sometimes abruptly lash out from primal threatened instinct, to their dismay even in this state.

Nothing got through to them more than wanting to help Raha. Memories from Studium days ran deep.

Riviére's shift was quietly insidious, appearing as occasional trance-like states. More and more dazed and non-verbal. Their eyes and hair gradually shifted closer to pure white, and they'd shudder and convulse more and more.

Read up through base ShB so far and these are fantastic! The entry cut off by light bile was so chilling. And I hadn't realized her monocle was Papalymo's, that's so sweet ❤️

I feel so bad for Rivi every time the MSQ makes you go kill [insert number of creature], but realistically in my canon the Scions would know that's hard for them and send someone else instead

Definitely ^^; In fairness, Rivi leans into it early on out of sheer desire to be useful and meet expectations, and once the twins join they feel the need to be strong for them. But once the cracks start to show the others notice and do their best to care for them in their own ways

When they become famous as WoL, Rivi's fashion sense probably becomes one of the most well known things about them. If it's a public event, though, they actually downplay their outfit because oh god not MORE attention & scrutiny. But a private gathering? They're breaking out their cutest new dress.
