I will never understand people who see this little girl who's only known America, screaming for a cat she'll never see, becoming ill, withdrawing, losing vision from accidentally(?) being hit in the face in DHS detention, and say "Good" that her life was destroyed

Just as a practical matter, consider how unheard of it is to expand an already significant federal agency by 1,000% in two or three years. WW2 mobilization or the early 60s Moon race are the right sort of analogies
With this budget, ICE alone would have nearly as large a detention operation as all 50 states' prison systems combined. Bigger budget than the Marine Corps. Police-state levels of spending
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:
- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

They launched a coup, suffered no consequences for it, won back power, and have used the power to pardon everyone involved while remaking the country through violence and intimidation. It’s just ridiculous to talk about the political violence of yelling at ICE agents within that context.
