An announcement from the official Dream Domains Discord server -- in collaboration between RoadToDuskVT and Nebulas_NoctisVT

The announcement reads as follows:

With everything that’s been going on, it’s been difficult to make a decision regarding returning to streams and working on what we promised.

We were fired from our job after just over a month. As such, we feel compelled to stream soon. However, it is hard to find the energy to do so, hence why we can’t put a date to coming back.

With how many financial struggles we’ve already faced this year, combined with our mental health, losing our job has killed our creativity. As such, we cannot continue anymore goals from our donothons, from Doodle Truth wins and song releases to conlang showcases.

Any winners are free to contact us privately for talks of compensation for your winnings. We genuinely apologise for any inconvenience or harm this may cause.

Artists, send invoices. That way, no one has to say what the money is for on Paypal's paper trail.

If you happen to be canceling streaming services for whatever reason, maybe throw a few bucks to a creative's Patreon or Ko-fi. Many have monthly tiers starting as low as $1, which may not sound like much, but if they get enough sign-ups, it could be life-changing money for those living on the edge.

This is why I roll my eyes at the idea of boycotting entire countries.

"Recently, I came across a drawing that perfectly mimicked my art style. I thought 'I don't remember drawing this' only to find out it was Al, I was shocked, this is truly evil and a tool for scammers"

It’s titled “Today’s World of Con Artists” and it reads: Speaking about 'societal evils, I think that as Al continues to spread throughout society, we're going to see an increasingly shady world filled with scammers exploiting it. Recently, I came across a drawing and thought, "This is something I drew, right?" I was shocked to find out it was actually created by Al. When I draw manga, I add subtle, personal elements that make the work uniquely mine. But this Al-generated piece even mimicked details like the way I draw eyelashes, so precisely that it was almost impossible to tell it apart from my work. If it were based on recent drawings, I'd know right away, "No, I didn't draw this." On the other hand, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference if it were done with my art from about ten years ago, when my memory of it would be a little hazy. The more Al advances, the more this kind of thing will happen.
Art reflects the times, and manga is one example of that. Seeing this world of con artists appear in manga could very well mean that we're headed for a future world dominated by fraudsters. This type of 'evil' in today's age will undoubtedly end up impacting manga down the line.
Copyright infringement by Al is also a 'villain' that we manga artists must face. The extreme scenario is that Al-generated fakes might start being accepted as the "real thing," and even if we try to protect our work, these counterfeits are becoming so accurate and sophisticated that it's no longer a fight an individual can win. Having some kind of laws would probably be the only way to regulate this. However, because we're dealing with a world of con artists, there's also a very real possibility that laws favoring them will appear before we know it. Personally, I entrust my copyright management to Shueisha, but some manga artists are lax in managing their copyrights, leading to others using their artwork without permission or even leaking original drawings.
