my name is cat
& ‘fore I sit
I like to walk
on you, a bit
I like to stand
upon the baws
and pierce the tender boob
with claws

back on twitter I wrote a poem about my cat, which I was very proud of. here it is:

it’s that time again (approx 1hr before dinner)
a whippet staring intently at me

lots of the soundscape versions stuff iirc. martin gore’s mg album. the most recent dopplereffekt too I think?
robertdallasgray.com
absolutely! everything by ghost dubs incl the recent collab with the bug — ghost dubs solo stuff in particular brings betke’s sound into the future. carmen villain’s nutrition ep from a couple of years ago. that’s a good start but there’s loads more

(and props on the record with gd btw, was listening to it this morning, it’s a belter)

also I’m well aware you predate all that stuff, I think I actually saw you at optimo in 99 ha ha!

ah thanks for replying man! I guess what I’m getting at is it’s interesting betke has been so influential from the pov of his direct involvement in so many of the actual records, many of which don’t ‘sound like’ pole at all. certainly don’t mean to imply anyone’s ripping him off!
robertdallasgray.com
oh 100%, ghost dubs in particular is a betke protégé basically. bug was more of a contemporary and has moved in a more dubby direction as time’s gone on.

2 in particular is fantastic, one of the most influential records of the era

trying to imagine someone explaining to me in 1999 that in a quarter century’s time some of the most interesting music around would be in a genre spawned by the first few pole records

if I was only allowed to listen to records mastered by stefan betke I think I’d probably be fine

I often forget, this is a go and listen to my music account. go and listen to my music

the guitar solo, btw, was a homage to this only ones tune (barely available m.youtube.com/watch?v=qR8L... ~ 26 minutes, miles from nowhere)

it’s so weird for people to think it’s new! I guess it’s like the records I always searched for in my teens that were long deleted
robertdallasgray.com
so weird seeing this picture of us btw ha ha
robertdallasgray.com
yes, I’m fairly sure we’ve met — I was around at that time, was at transmission for simon’s blue boat black show etc

ah so maybe you also knew glen?
