Born in Bristol in 1825, Henry Browne Blackwell (brother of Elizabeth) moved to America in 1832. As an adult he toured the USA with his wife Lucy Stone, advocating for women’s suffrage and the rights of women, arguing that no nation could be regarded as civilised until men and women were equal.

More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

It’s a real shame that Nigel Farage is too unwell to do interviews the morning after Donald Trump threatens us with sanctions.

Here he is with “the bravest man he ever met”. He campaigned to make Trump President, and has spent the last year enjoying all the chaos he has caused.

In old England, an ale-pole or ale-stake, set like a flagpole or suspended outside an inn, marked that fresh ale was on sale. Often dressed with ivy, long linked to Bacchus, the Roman god of drink and revelry, it called passers-by to stop and share the cheer 🍺

Palantir was a warning sign.

Keir Starmer choosing to hand our data and security to US tech companies is an outrageous failure of judgment.

All in the name of "investment." What about national security?

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo
