I was not bullied because I was Autistic.

I was bullied because other people were cruel.
I was bullied because other people were not Autistic and didn't understand Autistic people.

And no, I would not like to be more like them just to make them stop.

There was an inadvertent theme to the first two books I read this year, so I continued it for a while!

It's not that common a letter anyway. You can get around it in most cases by usings Cs, Ks and other letters depending on how the word is pronounced

Technically the Bighty Burn, which is culverted practically under my house, but if I have to go for one people have heard of, the River Leven or the Forth!
Reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the South Saskatchewan River.
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

I LOVE this. Columbo is basically more a fae creature disguised as a beggar than a cop.

On one hand, Columbo is a police lieutenant, which is bad. On the other hand, Columbo makes more sense if you view him not as a cop but as some sort of supernatural entity, like a fey

I remember being at my grandparents’ house when my parents went on a trip to Switzerland when I’d not long turned 3, and pouring water over my dad in the garden on a scorching day a few months later
What is your earlier memory, and how old are you in it? I stole my sister's trike and mum came out and told me off. I was about 4. 1980. Like Keith Moon, I have no memories of the seventies.

It’s actually made me a bit teary-eyed to see this in my employer’s new neurodiversity policy - I feel validated by this statement!

I’d bought these two books weeks apart a few years ago, and, because of the coincidence of the titles, decided I had to read one after the other. Being sizeable books, it’s taken me a while to get to them, but they were worth the wait! @sarasheridan.bsky.social

Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

E-books are reading.
Comics are reading.
Genre is reading.
Fanfic is reading.
Text-based games are reading.
Audiobooks are reading.
Braille books are reading.
Non-fiction is reading.
Picture books are reading.
There is no single way to read, nor is any reading style more worthy than another.

Was waiting at the bus stop in the rain and a man going by asked me if I believed in aliens. I told him I didn’t. He then asked me if I believed in myself. I said yes. He nodded and walked on. Then the bus arrived.

Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.
