Sick of Twitter twats and FB Russo-bots. On here for adult conversation, better ideas (and spelling); fewer fascists; a place free from Suckerberg automatons and the stench of Musk.

The “british” left and its attitudes emerged when England still had an empire. It has always shown profound hostility to Welsh national existence even as it depended on our votes to govern WM. A lasting positive of the Caerffili result may yet be the death of british nationalism in Cymru
Wales Online is just a blur of text constantly shunted aside by pop-up adverts.
Deform are the epitome of English nationalist interests and they should-and will-be referred to as exactly that. But they could also carry the moniker of “The Racist party”, or-“The fascist Party” equally well. “British“ means “english“ as anyone who seriously follows politics within the UK knows.

One thing that really stood out in the build up to the Caerffili by-election was the, not very subtle, bot activity in favour of Reform.

They’re there to shut you down and drown out other views.

The bot element of Reform’s online army is very active and not very subtle. This toxic environment is designed to shut down other views and disillusion you into giving up. But bots can’t vote ✍️ Ethan Jones
Reform's humbling in Caerffili and the online bots
Ethan Jones Make no mistake, the Caerffili by-election result is an embarrassing defeat for Reform UK. A humbling. Given the coverage in the UK media and activity across social media, in the lead up t...

I suspect it is asking for too much to expect Reform to act honourably and drop the racism, because they wouldn’t have much left on offer without it. But other parties need to call them out at every opportunity ✍️Martin Shipton wp.me/p8Mk4U-17NU
Yes it is, England take note but there has be the genuine option of a party that is inclusive, believes in social justice, progressive policies and being anti racist. Plaid are all this and much more. It was easy choice for some lab voters to switch as lab are none of these things. Good luck!
That’s an excellent post Emily, it‘s good to know that this agenda is still pushed however disappointing the fact that it still need to. Like most people of my generation I learned about our history as an adult from reading Gwyn A Williams, R R Davies, A D Carr etc. And I did history to A level.

“For weeks this online mob has polluted any article or post about Caerphilly with their abuse, laughing emojis and blatant political illiteracy of ‘Plied,’ ‘Welsh speaking Liebour’ and ‘something, Nation of Sanctuary, something’”

Some graffiti has appeared on the Reform UK office in Caerphilly.

Following a by election last week which Reform lost someone has written “now you can fuck off home”.
Reform had made immigration a key issue in by election.

Keep your pettiness’s. Ive already applauded the people of Caerffili, Lindsey Whittle their worthy representative and Plaid Cymru for standing up for Cymru, Y Cymry, and for refugees-an issue that has drawn Labour into a policy race to the bottom alongside Farage both chasing the racist vote.
And that is the problem “..the money they ALLOW Wales” why are we in a position where we tolerate being given less than our worth and needs? Morgan promised having two lab gov would near no more begging for money. She couldn’t even answer if she’s even asked for more.
Yes you’re right. But that churlishness is still all around us especially in the english media reporting Deform’s loss and Labour’s collapse rather than Plaid’s victory-it’s diagnostic of the British context that we‘re forced to endure as a colony.
I’m not being uncivilised your being oversensitive because your party lost And your having a hard time dealing with it. That’s not my fault. Lab have had a 100 years of doing a terrible job holding our country back and filling their own pockets. London doesn’t even know where we are let alone care.
Ahh auto correct- but what was that you said about rising “above pettiness”? Again my condolences for you crushing defeat. Yes the people of Caerffili did the right thing for all including themselves and their national interests which for so long have been disregarded by all WM parties.
It’s beginning to change as the reality of inequalities in the UK become clear. Two generations of young people have matured since legislative devolution and the birth of a modern Welsh body politic. Labour are still anti-Welsh even whilst our young increasingly see themselves as Cymry not british.
Ahh your Labour-my condolences.
The victory is Plaid’s that is a positive fact. Lindsey Whittle won the vote in Caerffili because Plaid have consistently representing Welsh people aspirations and values. It’s a shame that many in england have emphasised the defeat of two british/english parties as the main issue and headline.
Well for Cymru-Plaid getting the win was the most important issue. Deform’s defeat is a cherry on top for everyone and will probably have repercussions elsewhere as Caerffili and Plaid Cymru have shown how to beat Deform even when they outspent Plaid (many times over) with shady Russian backing.
