Speaking as a Canadian, thank you. Trump has destroyed decades of close friendship between our countries through his trollish behaviour, with outcomes that hurt ordinary Canadians and Americans. It is time for common sense oversight that counters wrong-headed public policy.
I just voted to cancel Trump’s reckless tariffs on Canada. This is a major victory for the American people and for Congress reclaiming our constitutional authority over tariffs. And, it's a defeat for Trump and Speaker Johnson, who for months blocked the House from taking this vote.

A reminder: The Attorney General of the United States should be the people's lawyer, not the president's personal attorney. The Department of Justice should act to protect the public, not the occupant of the Oval Office and his political allies.
