That "Lawrence back to you" reminded me a lot of "and theres a deep drive to left field."
Brian Kilmeade apologized for his comments about homeless people getting lethal injections this morning on Fox & Friends, saying "so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion."

Embarrased to say I walked into a pole in the exact same way in Cambridge while at a debate tournament at Harvard. Got distracted looking at a Dunkin' Donuts and hit the pole flush. Giant knot formed on my forehead immediately. Still pretty funny.
Never trust poles! 🤣👍

I don't think this timeline of "almost at the same time" adds up since Padilla was one of the 16 who voted for the Genius Act cloture which he could not have done while handcuffed in CA. I believe that vote was the day before. The vote is jarring but the same time juxtaposition is a bit misleading.
It's a truly jarring split screen that Kristi Noem's goons attacking Sen Padilla happened at almost the exact same time as 16 Dem senators crossed lines to vote with the GOP to invoke cloture on the crypto bill, forfeiting any leverage.

Dems need to act like an opposition.

Saw this sign above the urinals at the Portland airport and thought, who would be dumb enough to drink out of a urinal? Then I watched a Trump cabinet meeting and thought, I sure hope they have those signs in the White House.

A colleague at Stanford’s business school used The Stanford Daily to argue—poorly—against DEI. The piece was riddled with historical errors and left one searching for fact, so I broke my public writing hiatus to respond.

I hope you’ll read and share the piece.

What DEI threatens isn’t merit. It’s monopoly.
Political science professor Hakeem Jefferson argues for DEI's importance to de-monopolizing universities.

Wait what? The Republicans have won by using rhetoric that eschewed partisanship? The Republicans have won by lying and attacking, and blocking every counter agenda. Democratic capitulation and seeking bipartisanship like Whitmer does here is the rinse repeat cycle of democratic losing. Fight evil.

The utter ignorant evil stupidity of these people makes my blood boil. How can there be this many raving lunatics wanting to erase diversity, education, art, culture, intelligence, tolerance, history, compassion, science, and pretty much everything that makes life worth living.
Hegseth's office ordered the U.S. Naval Academy to review all 590,000 books in its library for content at odds with an executive order banning “radical indoctrination” in K-12 schools, even though it is a college. MLK, Einstein books already identified for removal www.nytimes.com/2025/03/28/u...

New, from me:

Trump is whitewashing American history, removing not just people, but also the stories, images, and values to anyone who does not conform to his impoverished vision of America.

Here is a partial inventory. 🧵

So after this capitulation by the Traitor 10 in the Senate are we allowed to express anger and frustration at the failure of democratic leadership in the Senate now or is the "don't criticize dems" crowd going to come and yell at us for "rage tweeting"?

So their argument is now that those who value diversity need to be tolerant of the diverse viewpoint of those who are banning diversity because we should be open to the diverse point of view attacking the value of diversity? They really make my brain hurt.
In a separate post Friday on X, Grenell wrote in part, “It troubles me to see that so many in the audience appear to be white and intolerant of diverse political views.”

Does he... does he think JD Vance was experiencing racism?

Apparently for International Women's Day the US Embassy Mexico had posted a picture of Melania quoted to say in Spanish, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Apparently they took it down, but it is mind bending the disrespect these people have for history.

I used to watch movies and wonder about the "henchmen." I was skeptical that there were that many people who would do horrific things just because some "kingpin" told them to. Then I saw twitter and the CPAC conference and the Republicans in Congress and realized there are lots of mindless henchmen.
