Working on a game project in RMMZ since 2025.

I post about what games I'm playing, but not what game I'm making.
Take the advice of two of the best goobers! Don't fall into the trap of making yourself miserable with doomscrolling and news watching!

Not really much of a cel shader, but I took a swing at it at least!

Shoutouts to Tales of Legendia for being the first JRPG in a long while to actually make my thumb sore from the amount of idiotic A button mashing I end up doing

(Please give your RPGs some interesting combat I beg you)

Wow, I didn't know that @kingdomsofthedump.bsky.social actually finally came out! Jumpscared by it while going through my Steam Queue.

Did some art for this eons ago (~10 years), which shockingly seems to have made it into the final game, so that's neat. Will have to make it a priority to play.

Randomly having a nightmare about being chased by a snake, as if I just subconsciously realized I was half rat and needed to have a bunch of weird pred/prey phobias

Likewise, the character design work by Kazuto Nakazawa is just supremely unique... It's a real shame this is the only mainline Tales title he worked on.

Even though the writing is very poor so far, it's still kind of a shame that ToL never got any sort of port or HD treatment, the art design for the world and the colour palettes with those rose-reds are really gorgeous looking.

Very Tales of Rebirth-coded in this sense so far

Time to get back to the big list of RPGs again... Jumpscaring myself with the "2005" on the title and the reminder that it's been 20 whole ass years since I played this one 👴 (and never even finished, to boot)

A self portrait for 2026, since I haven't done one in quite a while (or at least it feels like that's the case) and I wanted to change some stuff about the look.

(CW: Nudity, Topless Female)

An NPC from the backgrounds in Fuga 1, who made a nice subject. Love how the pose/anatomy came out, esp. with the new rendering.

(I would call this artistic nudity, but I know how the automod feels about nipples so I may as well tag it "Adult" myself)

Flam Kish, from Fuga 3. Been studying the art, trying to learn from it... Think I've been making progress. Trying a new method for colours now to style match. It's clear that I need to mess with pencil brushes though, the ones I have aren't adapted for shading.

Maybe you won't hear it a lot online, but 2025 was a good year, at least for me. I cut out all the excess in my life, I focused on my own health, happiness, and the wellbeing of my friends and my creative ambitions. Ending the year after growing the most I probably ever have during one.

Probably my last post of the year. Listen to me gush as I try not to cry over the very act of writing a review of a game.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 is a goddamned masterpiece.

Finally here, at the end of the series. I blazed through this one faster than both 1 and 2, I was almost unable to put it down over the holidays- it had a vicegrip on my heart and my attention, and ev...

Played and finally finished a review of Fuga 2..

In which I basically just gush for paragraphs about this game about cute furry kids that made me cry earlier today, and fills me with hope and pride that we don't have to be held back by who we are. We can stand with the best, and do better, too.
Rodenbeard's review of Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 | Backloggd
For months after finally getting around to the original Fuga (and enjoying it quite a bit) I waited for this and Fuga 3 to go on sale again- and it was worth that wait (and frankly, would have been wo...

Been playing Fuga 2 the last few days after getting gifted it, and with the chokehold it has on my time + the excellent upgrades its been making to the formula, it might end up the best game I've played this year (maybe!)

It might even be the first RPG to crack the 8/10 barrier in many many years 👀

Lots of neat looking RM games on display here, and some other quality indie recs 👍
I wanna try this, dunno how long it'll take but let's go! Big props to Sgt for this and everyone else who's listed 50!
New rule this year: If you post "Play more indie games" during the game awards, you are required to make a thread recommending 50 of them.

Of all the things you can click on, this isn't one of them, which will leave me forever wondering what the fuck "memes" is supposed to refer to

System Shock coming in clutch in December. Up there with Fuga 1 as one of the best games I've played all year... I realize I am really beginning to enjoy this type of high threat/difficult + tight resource management gameplay, even outside of the (unfortunately) brief moments it appears in RPGs
