Off to London to interview Kris Gumbrell founder of Brewhouse & Kitchen group at his Highbury pub. The much praised Pocket in nearby Canonbury Lane also on today's agenda. #BskyBeer

Good to see Gales historic beers still in production. As well as Prize Old Ale, to the credit of @brewhenry.bsky.social, Fuller's continue to brew Horndean Special Bitter 4.8%, first brewed 1959, using the original recipe. Rich, fruity & malty. #BskyBeer

Been for a walk downtown to a local landmark this evening.
A path through a churchyard & an avenue of trees - lit higher up by the low evening sun. The path runs downhill to a town in the distance. An enlarged version of the other pic in this post showing a brewery tower in the distance, lot by the sun.

Seaside season may have ended but the Evening Star, close to Brighton Station, is the perfect place for a cosy pint from their superb #Cask range before hitting the iron road. #BskyBeer

If in Bristol Thursday October 16 you might be interested in a free book event I’ll be doing at Small Bar, 7 for 7.30, where I’ll be talking about ‘A Pub For All Seasons’ and reading from it - I’ll also have paperback copies which I’ll be selling for a tenner (rrp £12.99) and signing, interested?

Good news on global renewable energy, turning point reached & positive shift in India & China. Sadly the BBC report ends on a downbeat note, the Trump administration, abandoning renewables, with Trump clapping under the caption "Dig Coal."

"Major breaking pub news" today by shadow chancellor Mel Stride at the Tory Party Conference. "Biz rates to be completely abolished" Sadly (in this respect) the "news" was delivered to a battalion of empty seats, the Tories are no longer the principal voice in opposition, & policy won't be delivered

Usually has a few localish Sussex, Surrey or Kent ales on as well. Very good to see it’s being supported by local council too, and won pub of the year poll organised by local MP who mentioned it in Parliament. Fantastic job being done there.

Good day in Burton with the Cask Marque assessor's. Nice to see so many old friends and industry faces again. Managed 7/7 in the sensory training session and 6/7 in the assessment which is done at 50% less concentration than the training. Slipped up on lactic. Lots of news on the CM training side 🙂🍻

I think David & Humph were not cut out for one another! Humph would undoubtedly have closed the brewery in any event.

Agreed. That sounds great, I'm going there for the first time on Friday...
