This Friday, we launch our BA Manchester Christmas Ale.

A beer brewed with all four of Manchester's Family Breweries, with a collective 700+ years of brewing history between them.

A true honour. Going live online and in the Taproom this Friday

Look at her. Like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. She’s trying to be nice to me after taking a piss in my office earlier today. Admittedly, most unusual for her!

Agreed, Will. #CricketersPubs are numerous national treasures. A favourite, the Cricketers at Weston, with cricket bat collection. Others village pubs on the green where you can while away an afternoon with a pint & watch the local team.
It's Ashesmas eve - but all through bluesky not a creature is stirring, not even a fucking mouse. So please enjoy these pictures of cricket-related pubs, and a bonus shot of Graham Gooch 👌

Anyone watching #BBCOne docudrama Prisoner 951? Story of Nazanin Zachary-Ratcliffe's 6 yr imprisonment in Iran. Harrowing & revelatory, Govt incompetence & injustice, UK arms deal. Foreign Office telling Richard to keep quiet & seek therapy. 2 more episodes to go.

How about an adventurous highly rated beer festival for your New Year calendar? 2026 dates not yet announced, usually early October. Meet the brewers in remote Hornindal, Norway. #BucketList #BskyBeer
The @kornolfest.bsky.social at the weekend was fascinating. I learned so much. It's a whole new world. Something genuinely different to every other beer festival.
And held in amazingly beautiful place.

Really enjoyed reading @rogerprotz.bsky.social article on Round Corner Brewing in the current edition of CAMRA Beer magazine. They visited The Ale Pole in Daventry this year and the beers were fantastic, particularly Society for the Encouragement of Virtue. So good that I purchased a case 😅

Good to see the wonderfully preserved King's Head still serving top cask ale - inc. Beechwood Bitter & Chiltern Pale Ale - & food under the management of Chiltern Brewery.
#BskyBeer
The King's Head at Aylesbury is a stunning survival from the mid-15th century. The date can probably be refined to 1445-55 as the building contains stained glass with the badges of Henry VI and Margaret of Anjou, married in 1445 & embroiled in the Wars of the Roses from 1455🧵

Just started on the notes for my Christmas/Winter Beer talks at @petersgatetap.bsky.social . Of the six beers, only one has an ABV below 10%. Yikes! It's all sold out for 14th December but tickets may be available for 21st. You don't want to miss this.

Would create a right-wing media giant under one owner. The Group could pivot to Reform UK following the odd glowing headline. Both titles have been viciously anti-BBC while it faces Trump's bn dollar lawsuit. Hope Competition & Markets, Ofcom & Lisa Nandy review carefully.

Those UK journalists backing Trump - a man who endorses the murder of a journalist because he’s ‘controversial’ - against the BBC need to see if they can find their moral compass
You know about Trump and Zelesnkyy’s call, but have you heard about the call between Trump and the Saudi Crown Prince?

Watch my statement below. Mr. President, release the transcript.

Currently in Prague, because reasons. I’m struck by how similar the old pubs here are to those in Franconia.

You enter U Fleku into a kind of hallway between the two main serving rooms. Just like Schlenkerla, Spezial, Fässla, etc

Email from friend in N Carolina. ICE/border control in the neighbourhood. Markets closed, school attendance down by a quarter. Not because 25% of people lack documents but "because it is dangerous to work/walk/drive/shop while brown. Horrible times. Do not let these people get a grip over there."

Sorry historic Black Horse Barnet is "closed, future uncertain". Owner Star pubs say they're recruiting. Concerned residents have signed petition & trying for ACV. Community hub for generations, founded 1720, big garden. A favourite of mine, one time micro brewery, always great Cask till recently.

This is a sumptuous BIG BEER. In 2022 @orbitbeers.bsky.social & @teamutopian.bsky.social brewed a collab Baltic Porter. A portion aged in oak barrels 35 months with "wild" yeast. End result: a rustic aroma & flavour with oak, dark chocolate & peppery hops. 9.7%. #BskyBeer
