Overviews from Grok and Google Lens are falsely stating that fake images and videos are real depictions of the recent Huntingdon train attack. See the FullFact article that debunks this @fullfact.org

Grok and Google Lens AI overviews claim fake imagery shows Huntingdon train attack – Full Fact
Grok told users one AI-generated image “appears to be a genuine photo”, while a Google Lens AI overview linked a video which does not show real footage of the incident to Saturday’s stabbings.

While I champion providing a solid grounding in #numeracy and #dataliteracy as key to education, there must also be space for the arts, which are essential for our development as people and a foundation for #creativity

Why do we talk of #dataliteracy or #statisticalliteracy rather than #datanumeracy or #statisticalnumeracy? It seems more logical to extend the definition of numeracy beyond basuc number skills to include data and statistics rather than attach the label literacy to them.

We need to ensure that content created by AI is labelled as such. Otherwise even if the original source notes that it is AI generated, that fact can be lost when the content is shared.
A video being widely shared online appears to show the eye of Hurricane Melissa filmed from above. But it isn’t genuine.

It has been created with AI.
Video appearing to show Hurricane Melissa from above is AI – Full Fact
A viral clip circulating online that seems to show the hurricane filmed from a plane was created using artificial intelligence.

There are great steps being made to keep children safe online as set out in this article. But we need pressure online companies to design algorithms that are safe by design rather than just trying to moderate content. #onlinesafety

Specialised #AI is bringing huge benefits. #AGI needs to prove its worth and that it has sufficient guardrails against the risks of bad design (in both senses) and misuse.
