Scottish fisherman, Dougie Maculloch. 7 years ago, I spent two weeks with Dougie, 100 miles off the NW coast of Scotland.We became good friends. So it looks like for new EVs you'll have to estimate your mileage for the year ahead when paying your VED. You'll then have to get the mileage checked every year at an authorised centre, probably your garage.

For older cars this will be done during the MOT.
