And every single Democrat Senator who voted yes tonight….yeah…they’re not up for reelection. Funny how that all worked out. Schumer needs to resign tonight.

One of the best scores my son received trick-or-treating on Halloween this year was a mini kaleidoscope. It’s been absolutely hypnotic to him. I kinda love it too — I forget how fun old-school, non-electronic toys can be. I think Santa needs to bring more like these this year. No batteries!

Dog owners understand the “Where’s Waldo” battle we face this time of year when cleaning up after our furballs. As the light fades earlier, and the grass turns brown - the difficulty level exponentially increases. (only leaves pictured here- afaik 🤣)

Sometimes I miss the moonrise ‘cause I’m stuck in traffic, or plain still working. I still grabbed a couple of photos w/ my phone tonight. She’s jussssst about full! I love the twinge of pink; first on the mountaintops, and then in the skies. I needed this. Anyone else *feeling* the near-full moon?

It’s not just climate change, it’s corporate greed; supplanting real chocolate and sugar w/ high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors leaving the consumer with poorly imitated, highly processed fake chocolate “candy”. Shame on Hershey’s, Mars, Nestle for putting profits over quality (as usual)
The long slow decline of real chocolate candy Is now noticeable. What’s to blame? Climate change damaging cacao harvests push up prices for chocolate makers.

Such a cool project for being able to safely photograph Porsches on racetracks. Would love to try this on a closed course, but would be insane to try it on the open road…not happening with the way I’ve seen some of you people drive.

Vanity plates always make me wonder about the person behind the wheel, and what their stories might be about. Not sure about this one, but driving this Ferrari would probably give me a brain-gasm. That color tho, has me seeing red.
What do we think @bwjones.bsky.social? Neuro doc, or just for fun?

I can’t wait for my child to start doing “duck and cover” drills under his desk, just like dad did back in the 80’s.

So…what causes a post like this (and the article itself) to have these weird errors that say “&mdash”? I’m assuming it’s AI and auto generated? Or what else causes/results in this type of content slop.

Hands down one of my favorite (and funniest) moments last night trick-or-treating with my son, was at a neighbor’s house where they had a “candy chute” they started during Covid. And one option was for ramen noodles. Here’s my son getting himself packet of beef flavored Maruchan noodles. So Stoked!

906 mb and 175mph sustained winds? So much turbulence that an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter had to leave the storm early. And those planes are DESIGNED to fly through hurricanes. Oh Jamaica…be safe. This is a gnarly one.
🌀 Hurricane Melissa now ranks in the top-10 most-intense hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin. The storm was so powerful that the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft team had to end their reconnaissance flight early due to severe turbulence! @kmbc9.bsky.social

As a Gen-X’er we grew up with a LOT of weirdness: duck and cover, back seats in station wagons, low-fat cookies, quicksand, just say no, and we just rolled with most of it. But taking advice now from this guy feels like taking advice from a Garbage Pails Kid.

Played a very fun, but poorly played (on my part) game of chess with my brother, nephew and his fiancé, and my son yesterday. Photo by my sister-in-law. I kinda want one of these giant sets now.

My son loves animals —especially cats. While on our walk last night he made friends with yet another neighborhood kitty. He took off his hoodie and put it on the ground for the cat, in case the cat was cold (ignoring his own cold) and it immediately came over and plopped down next to him. My heart.

With all the *everything* happening around us in the world, our country, our state…I try to just remember why I even bother to get up in the morning. My son makes it crystal clear to me exactly why…thanks kid. Dad loves you and loves seeing the world through your eyes.

Is it time for a general strike? I think we’re there. I don’t want some ridiculous civil upheaval that endangers lives - but a well-participated general strike that lasts for a week beginning this Black Friday could *maybe* create the impetus needed to get the ball rolling in the right direction?

So very bummed to find out I missed catching the poet Rudy Francisco here in Utah this week. A friend shared one of his poems with me once, when I needed it…needed *something*. Hopefully next time I’ll find out beforehand that he’s coming. Give him a read if you haven’t before. Word balm.

Bill Nye, one of my favorite science guys growing up (and still today!) was a speaker during this weekend’s No Kings March, and hit nail on the proverbial head, “They suppress science to the detriment of our health, our well-being, and our international competitiveness. It’s a formula for failure.”

Trump is demolishing the front of East Wing right now, built ~100 years ago, to build his golden ballroom; paid for with bribes from his “patriot donors” and “private sources”.
No President has ever privately constructed a permanent structure at the White House. It’s always been publicly funded.
