been playing Spirit Swap a bit and it's got such a weird setup of like, you meet all the characters once, the credits roll and you're like "??? i thought this was also a dating game?" then after the MASSIVE credits a window pops up like "go back in! there's more game"! and there's like 5 more hours

that said, this is pretty clearly an act of cowardice to can on Ubisoft's part because they're so afraid of being yelled at, and their track record of how difficult it has been to have a Black person and/or a woman as the star of one of their premiere games speaks for itself

i think overall Long Walk struck a pretty good balance between a kind of hokey "through the power of friendship and the beauty of the world we can make it through!" and the harsh realities of "this country wants you dead, and it will revel in the ways you die"
