Trump's 'peace plan' "is not peacemaking. It is monetising security and turning America from an arsenal of democracy into an auctioneer of peace for profit, at the expense of an ally invaded by a tyrant." Europe can't rely on the US. @mrandrewfox.bsky.social mrandrewfox.substack.com/p/the-ukrain...

"Conflictedly connected" American Jews, the majority or at least plurality of the community, are both morally outraged by Israeli behavior, in Gaza & the WB, and also believe Israel's existence is vital for the future of the Jewish people. #ShabbatShalom www.haaretz.com/us-news/2025...

A shared linguistic landscape is vital, especially in conflict areas, where it can help to reduce the tribal inclination towards 'othering'. I was really happy to collaborate with Lissan on this article and help bring it to fruition!

A thought: Binary "black and white" thinking is uncluttered and therefore 'refreshingly' unrestrained and liberating. And therefore popular. Unfortunately, it doesn't solve real-life problems because the world is actually almost never simple, either to comprehend or describe.

Love the imagery by Hanin Majadli on Einat Wilf's new "Oz" party!
"Its platform looks like an aliyah brochure from the 1920s or '30s - a bizarre blend of old-school Mapai 'beautiful Israel' and Kahanism a la Itamar Ben-Gvir."

Swastikas and nooses are dangerous hate symbols used by white supremacists to celebrate the history of hatred, mass murder and terrorism of the white supremacist movement.

Removing the hate symbol classification is an attempt to normalize white supremacy.

Never let hate win.

62% of Israelis, and 73%(!) of Jewish Israelis, said they'd oppose Palestinian statehood, even if it's coupled with normalization with Saudi Arabia.
The Israeli public (not just government) and the rest of the world seem to be moving in 2 very opposite directions. www.jpost.com/israel-news/...
Israeli poll shows strong opposition to Palestinian state | The Jerusalem Post
Among Jewish Israelis, opposition is even higher at 79%, up from 76% in the previous JCFA poll. This marks the highest level of Jewish-Israeli opposition in its tracking since the war began.

Based on this @sienaresearch.bsky.social poll, it's hard to see how a MAGA-aligned R candidate, be it Stefanik or Blakeman, can beat Hochul - even if a plurality of NY voters (48%) want "someone else" - since 30% of the 'someone elsers' simply want another Democrat. sri.siena.edu/2025/11/18/h...

Yes, the language is vague, the escape clauses are many, but it's significant that a Trump administration spearheaded a UNSC resolution that points to Palestinian statehood as the "political horizon". Trump's 1st term began with him backing away from a 2SS. www.middleeasteye.net/news/full-te...
