I do not post much here or anywhere. This is not because I am not trying to pay attention. Nor is it a lack of ‘care’.

Today is the 29th anniversary of the founding of the Institute for Anarchist Studies. We interviewed a couple of the founding members just a few years ago to talk about the work of the institute. Check it out.

There's definitely a lot here—but I'd argue that the "strange situation in which young designers are situated between activism, performative gesture and a residual urge to create" is exactly because they recognise that design as only "a tool to improve lives" was a naïve approach to "social purpose"

Have been excited to work with colleagues @eui-eu.bsky.social school of transnational governance to compile these initial seeds of democratic innovation and the talents of WeDo (Barcelona) who created the beautiful card deck. These are a key part of our new co-creation workflow launching soon!
🌱 Let’s talk about the #Seeds of democracy!
1️⃣ Problem-based ad hoc Citizens’ Assembly... It may sound complex, but it’s quite simple!

At our symposium We Dream in Futures and the Design Futures Forum, Liam spoke with urgency about why he makes these works.

He reminds us that world-building is not just an artistic gesture - it is a political, ethical, and environmental act. The futures we imagine shape the future we make.

In this short piece, I lean on embodied cog sci to argue that we should refuse & resist llms in education (pp. 53-58) unesdoc.unesco.org/in/documentV...

GREAT read.

Artists’ “purpose may lie in being that counterpower—demonstrating alternatives + standing up to gov’ts, institutions, corporations + so on—to societal bullies. Artists shld also be a counterbalance to trends + conformity. Existing outside the norm is a very precious + important position in society”
