I think I prefer the overall gameplay and levels in Mario Galaxy 2, but pretty much everything else is better in Galaxy 1.

I think Cosmic Cove is one of my favorite Mario levels ever. It captures that Mario Galaxy atmosphere perfectly and is a magical experience. Plus, combining space and the sea is incredible.

FINALLY playing Mario Galaxy 2! While it is nowhere near as potent and ethereal as Galaxy 1, it is still very fun and charming! The story is pretty disappointing, especially compared to the game. I loooove Starship Mario. It feels like a giant garden, though I prefer the Comet Observatory.
