And I remember that short conversation.
Oh wow, I'm glad!

Your art and stories are excellent, so I'm glad to hear you don't do that!

Today’s the birthday of 70s/80s Superman character Lola Barnett, a gossip reporter for WGBS-TV.

Then where's my Ducktales movie?!

It's fine, I have it on disc. Just saying, it IS the first DisneyToon.

Up to me, I'd cut some of the other DisneyToons like Planes 2 or Jungle Book 2 for "Return of Jafar." Not saying it's good, but that movie was profitable & made DisneyToons the sequel factory.
@24panels.bsky.social can attest to this, but the novels are probably more interesting because the author took big swings.

The original sequel, Spiral, gets into, "What if we got into macro horror and anyone could be reborn through a curse?" Probably plays out better in book than a movie.
Ringu is the best one. Also has the prettiest actress!

The sequels all suck to some degree, either because they're just lame haunting, gilding the lily that is ghost girl in the well.
Haha, @24panels.bsky.social and I are big on owning discs. I won't get that set, because of cost, but also because I checked and I own 95 of those 100 movies. Some on DVD, but still.
Roger Rabbit is - to me - again the big omission, but there I think they're not including it because the next step would be Disney nerds saying, "Oh, you're including Roger Rabbit and not Song of the South." And you know damn well why no Song of the South.
Did you see that "100 movie blu ray" set? To get to that number they're including Pixar, the Tim Burton stop motion movies, and pad it out with a few DisneyToons.
So no Pixar, no DisneyToon, no TV-only characters, nothing outside Disney Studios.

That meant that to me, the biggest omission was Roger Rabbit, animated outside the studio in the UK.
I wish that special was funny.

I probably missed a lot. Yeah, I noticed that Uncle Scrooge got in there on the condition it was from Mickey's Xmas Carol. That, and "Scrooge McDuck and Money" would be the only things counting as his Disney Studio appearances.
It is the "deepest" movie for 20 year olds.

Fun bit: You can feel extra smart if you realise the "invisible rabbit" is an elaborate gag on Harvey.
What's crazy is the first sequel, Spiral, is probably the second best one, and it's considered so bad they ditched it entirely and started a new continuity with the same actors the next year.
I'm watching every Japanese Ring movie and they almost all suck.

Should've stopped at 1.
