On Peacock: The LA Clippers vs LA Lakers. Also a bunch of annoyingly invasive pop-ups. "Share your data with the NBA"?! Um, *no*... I just want you to stream the game as-is.

Looks like no stand-alone Hulu Black Friday deal this year (which traditionally was 99 cents a month for a year). Presumably since the stand-alone Hulu app is going away, and you'll need Disney+'s app even if just paying for Hulu.

See, this is the problem with the X-Office continuing to bet on 90s X-Stalgia as a holding pattern between X-Men '97 seasons and the proper establishment of mutants in the MCU...

Eventually you're going to roll snake eyes on that era's worst tropes...

Saw an interesting piece of advice recently: ask the AI search engines for an answer in a field in which you are very knowledgeable.

The results will make it clear just how much they get wrong, and how brazen they are about it.

Now, apply that to every subject in which you are NOT an expert.
Looked up “what mobile parking app do I need for <this town>” - AI summary on Google confidently gave me the wrong answer, which I ignored because **it is wrong a third of the time, about ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING** (according to the last study I read.)

The shit just doesn’t work.

NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

Given the short-tempered Donald regularly tussles with people twice his size, the kidnappers won't know what hit them?

Hmm, thinking about it more, think the Captain Planet/environmentalism-in-cartoons backlash was mostly by adults or in adult-oriented media ("South Park" or the like). 90s kids media seemed to have plenty of pro-recycling, etc. messages, and kids liked Captain Planet (which ran six seasons).

One reason people are holding onto phones longer is that they've mostly matured as tech, vs. back in the 2010s when upgrading every few years saw big improvements. They're basically now like TVs: replaced when they wear out, break, lose software support, or don't do what you want anymore.
It’s very revealing that the 2 messages these articles always swing between are “people are poor because they overspend” and “people being thrifty is destroying the economy”.
"People are poor and that's not enriching the rich"
