...and I'm replying to this post instead of going to class. :] Yay!
I've been thinking about these things recently as well, the video was an interesting take.

This is why I fell in love with Bluesky; feels like the old internet. We used to have a social media called IRC Galleria in Finland way before FB was a thing, it had a similar vibe, but it died when FB came.
Great work with the algorithm video, it was an interesting take!

It's not surprising though that people have started to offload their thinking to AI — thinking is hard, it takes energy, the brain is lazy and does not want to consume energy.

It's the same reason why bad habits are hard to break.
Yup! Imagine dropping lifelink on this. 😂
That's so cool! A fitting corssover for sure.
European comics, such as? Just curious, I'm a Finn and do not think I know any European comics besides Viivi and Wagner, lol.
Cool! I'll let you know when I have the beta build, would love honest feedback. 😄

Nerve-racking indeed! The perfectionist in me wouldn't want to release anything — there is always more content, more features that could be added. Just got to draw the line somewhere and do it. 😅
Getting there! Working on bosses and extending the battle system with more moves at the moment.

Will probably invite a small group of people to closed beta testing after I've finished this segment. It's going to be the first time others try the game, little scared tbh. 😅 Would you like to try it?
100% agree—gameplay is what keeps viewers engaged too. A game can look amazing, but if it’s boring to play, it’s gonna be boring to watch. 🤷‍♂️
Right? It’s wild how a game with cutting-edge graphics can feel less engaging than a bunch of blocks if the gameplay is solid. Just goes to show that fun always wins in the end.
Me. 🖐 Gen 4 is my favorite, Platinum to be more precise.
It's fun, isn't it? Wait until you hit 30, that's where the true downhill begins. I'm 34, borderline in need of blood pressure medication. 😅
Fair take. Witcher 3 is a great example of a game where all three (graphics, story, and gameplay) are strong but not universally loved. If the gameplay doesn’t click, no amount of story or visuals can save it. 🤷‍♂️
Totally! Of course in an ideal world we could have it all in every title, but unfotunately that's not the case.

I do enjoy good art, but when I experience great gameplay loop that really hooks me, I too forget about graphics quickly, lol.
Exactly! I appreciate good stories in games, but I play because of the gameplay in the end.

Having an interactive movie is fine and those can be enjoyable as well. Back in the PS3 days I really enjoyed Heavy Rain.

Graphics is icing on the cake; coherent, beautiful artstyle > photorealism.
You can only pick one:

Graphics, Gameplay, or Story?

To me, gameplay. Good stories are powerful, nice graphics are awesome, but terrible gameplay brings both down.

So, I've focused heavily on gameplay for #TheVoid:

Agreed, planning on keeping the demo around for people to try even outside the fest. :)
Ah, I see! All exposure before the fest surely would help. Getting people to notice one's indie game is just really difficult on social media.

I've heard releasing a demo can boost wishlists couple hundred % just from the organic Steam traffic. 🤔 Wouldn't know though, zero experience.
Wow, that's a lot of demos to try! Do you pick demos from like certain genres, or just stuff in general that peaks your interest?
Useful checklist style post! Thanks for sharing. :)
Hi! :D Ticking most of those, I'm not a streamer though. What types of games are you into?
I can totally see that happening, we all have limited time on our hands unfortunately.

Do you usually prioritize demos from specific genres, or do you just go with whatever catches your eye? With so many available, I imagine it’s tough to decide which ones to try first.
