For 17 years, the US intel community has kept classified an assessment on the security implications of climate change. Why has the IC kept it a secret? My latest on why the @nsarchive.bsky.social is calling on the ODNI to prioritize the report's declassification: nsarchive.gwu.edu/briefing-boo...
The Climate Intelligence Assessment the Government Doesn’t Want You to See
Washington, D.C., February 28, 2025 - For 17 years, the U.S. Intelligence Community has refused to declassify one of its first investigations into climate change as a national security threat.

How generous of the Department of Energy to give me five days instead of three to clarify my FOIA request—over a federal holiday.

If there's one thing the mainstream news media love to overlook, it's the impact of the mainstream news media. The petite Tea Party in all its elite-backed astroturfiness was hailed like a sacred comet; the historically huge No Kings was played down by the NY Times, among other publications.

For all its virtue-signaling about transparency, the UNFCCC really keeps a tight lid on things. The transparency, like so many other aspects of the process, is performative, because we NEVER get to see the discussions that really matter at COP30 or any other COP.

The CIA has the OK to undertake covert ops in Venezuela.

The FBI is spying on immigration activists.

DHS is spying on almost all of us.

It's a good time for @nsarchive.bsky.social to highlight the Church Committee report, which investigated intel abuses.

Who's going to be the next Frank Church?
