There used to be a bunch of jokes in the truly tasteless joke book(s) about rearranging the furniture in a blind person's room. But macos tahoe moving the music controls to the bottom and the volume/brightness to the upper right _25 years in_ is truly tasteless.

The epilogue of “the cold millions” hit me harder than the whole (relevant to today) book. The way it overlapped with what would’ve been approximately my grandfather’s generation became clear.
prologues are great, actually. epilogues too! footnotes! epigraphs!! give me a novel with all the bells and whistles!!

Still thinking about jj (jujutsu) and Git compatibility. Which is limited to "it might work, but be careful what git commands you run". If there was a way to stop git from changing the repo I could see it, but right now it's like doing VCS on a balance beam of "hope git never runs in this dir"

Coding before search engines to coding after search engines felt similar to the before and after AI. A bit like cheating at first, then just a matter of finding what you want in a sea of conflicting ideas and code.
