Apparently that hold and twirl by Rutger was not rehearsed at all, so that’s genuine surprise on Michelle during that. #ImpromptuTheater

Rutger was quite impressed with himself for pulling off that dagger flip and toss without looking. #ImpromptuTheater

I’ll note if you want some interesting play with light and shadow in a cathedral, the newest Benoit Blanc movie WAKE UP DEAD MAN, has some great work there. #ImpromptuTheater

Rutger got himself a medieval hockey mask for the final battle! #ImpromptuTheater

Dude, maybe wait a few minutes and see if the crazy plan might work? #ImpromptuTheater

I’m sure in another movie, this would have gone in a weird Cronenberg-ian manner with these transformations, but hey, this works. #ImpromptuTheater

We still have about an hour left of a really fun movie, but unless the #impromptutheater leaders have a problem with it, I'd like to suggest #folkhorrorfriday on (obviously) Fridays and, on Saturdays, #horrorwatch.
The movies are fun, and the crowds are smart, funny, and chill. Just like this 🙂

“I’ve met the Bishop, you blasphemous lout! And you look nothing like him!” #ImpromptuTheater

John Wood as the Bishop mostly is known for stage work, but he was in a few movies around this time, like JUMPING JACK FLASH and ORLANDO. #ImpromptuTheater

That’s the reason you have an actor like McKern there to deliver all that exposition. #ImpromptuTheater
December 16, 2025 at 5:55 AM
And we got a scruffy Alfred Molina as Cesar! #ImpromptuTheater

Dude, took you this long to figure out why you got Rutger by day and Michelle at night? #ImpromptuTheater
December 16, 2025 at 5:48 AM
And here comes Leo McKern! #ImpromptuTheater

We usually have a Rutger Hauer movie in the first week of every April on #CultShelf , as we started that event with a Rutger double (or secret triple) feature. We haven’t gotten to this one yet on there, but who knows? #ImpromptuTheater
December 16, 2025 at 5:35 AM
Rutger apparently had a good time working with that hawk. #ImpromptuTheater
