lol I almost wrote something similar but I don't really feel qualified to call someone something like that. But... what I always thought is that he would be great in a band with other song writers. His full control always seemed to be the problem for me.

First show I ever saw in 89 opening up for Testament (Wrathchild America too). At 15, one of the best nights of my life. There I said something nice because fuck I really hate these vocals lol. Waters is good but I could never fully get into any of his records, only kinda.

Firm believer that nostalgia is a toxic impulse.

Poking around the internet the biggest complaint is that it was intentionally vanilla and unfunny. Fair, but I legit found G hilarious as a kid. So maybe not younger people, I realized that I am exactly the right age to love this. But... come on man.

I am not familiar with this Garfield critique and while the internet has given me some nuggets, I'm interested to your specific point. Please enlighten when you can!

The vote was weird. As a half hour animated special, there is some merit to the Garfield one I will say.

I really should dig into those. Like, I've seen them all but probably not in decades. Somewhat adjacent, I just picked up a physical release that as a bonus has new scans of Nosferatu and Phantom from the 20s. I get so mired down in trash I ignore the classics often heh.
