The Republican-controlled Utah state legislature put a moratorium on health care for trans kids, and ordered an exhaustive review of the evidence. Two and a half years later, the 1000-page report said, in short, care for trans kids is safe and effective.

I haven't been in the pediatric trans healthcare system since 2019 and I can barely look at these headlines without wanting to puke.

Can't imagine the fucking damage this is doing to trans kids today.

Banning medical care for trans kids doesn’t stop them from being trans. It just makes their lives into a horrible nightmare.

Sarah McBride isn’t a firebrand. She’s spent her time in Congress relentlessly focusing on her constituents, not on national issues. But she is also the only congressperson who can speak directly to the lived experience of a trans person. And I am so grateful she is there to say things like this.
@mcbride.house.gov is right. It’s hard enough being a kid — and politicians don’t need to make it harder.

Thank you, Congresswoman, for speaking out against the cruel Republican attacks on health care for trans youth.

Gender-affirming care for youth is just simple medical care. It isn’t political, it’s not radical. It is small-c conservative care that is what is recommended by doctors to protect the health and lives of kids and teenagers. Please protect trans kids.

Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.

Trump: "The only time anybody could see those planes was when those bomb chutes open up, because it becomes totally un-stealth. You're going in, you go like this. As soon as it goes like this, for some reason the plane is totally visible. Not good. I watched it happening. I watched it go bing bing"

I said roughly ten percent of the things I could have said about Rob Reiner.
Remembering Rob Reiner, who made movies for people who love them
The movies Reiner directed, from A Few Good Men to The Princess Bride, weren't just good — they were people's favorites, the types of films people come back to again and again.

1. Another anti-trans bill has now been added to the congressional calendar this week.

Following MTG's total felony trans youth care ban, Dan Crenshaw's Medicaid trans youth ban will be heard.

Though it is unlikely to get through the Senate, it will be a major posturing vote for congressmembers.
