I still think AI is our best shot at curing diseases as well as moving past compulsory labor. Wish more of my friends on the left saw it that way so we could build it that way. I don’t want to cede the space to venture capital.

It’s a bit hard to take the AI haters seriously when the tech is clearly what would allow us to move to an egalitarian, post-scarcity society. It all depends on how we proceed.

So apparently bluesky is having another meltdown now? I gotta be honest, the thing pushing me off of twitter is compelled speech and algorithm fuckery, I wasn't looking for a more specific echo chamber.

Once we've harnessed all available power on earth and focused it into GPUs maybe the superintelligence can fix outlook search.

I just had a similar thought lmao. “Maybe it’s just easier because you’ve been using it for almost 15 years now”. I still stand by the statement that it’s more streamlined than it used to be though overall. Broadcom drivers in particular come to mind.
