PS: Jack Cassidy was also in Murder By The Book and Publish or Perish - a further two episodes of Columbo, and he was suitably superb in both of those too! Murder By The Book was directed by Steven Spielberg and is a stonker! You can't go wrong! It's a bit of a #ColumboTV favourite!

I can reveal that last month's #ColumboTV poll actually had a split vote - two episodes with equal votes... we're watching one now, and I figured it made sense to watch the other in four weeks, for our final Columbo watch party for the time being... appropriate enough for our 'Swan Song'...

This is a VERY good episode; so much going for it. So good that the appearance of Sgt Wilson, which would usually be a standout feature, is something I'd totally forgotten - among all the other brilliance. And the new coat!

Do you ever watch the LockingPickingLawyer on YouTube? I had a spell of watching a couple of episodes every lunchtime. Very impressive, but after a while 'click on one, nothing on two, click on three' gets a bit samey!

I love seeing the combination of hand-doubles, 'self-workers' and prop-based stuff used to give the impression of a 'master illusionist' in shows like this. The flawless card productions followed by a horrible false card castle and some DREADFUL 'pseudo sleight of hand'!
