I can reveal that last month's #ColumboTV poll actually had a split vote - two episodes with equal votes... we're watching one now, and I figured it made sense to watch the other in four weeks, for our final Columbo watch party for the time being... appropriate enough for our 'Swan Song'...

I love the Lieutenant handing the Nazi magician incriminating evidence -- the letter which proves his motive is being unmasked as an SS guard during World War II -- only for the Nazi magician to burn it! I never understood handing evidence to criminals. Alas, foiled by photocopies!

I enjoyed the joke of calling Sergeant Wilson "Doctor Watson"! I love how hard he's trying to impress Lieutenant Columbo but failing, because his brain is just wired differently. He does make a great straight man for the Lieutenant to play off of!

I love that they Lieutenant made his handcuffs "un-pick-able" by the same locksmith who made the dead extortionist's office door lock, so the Nazi magician had to incriminate himself here in order to get free from the cuffs!

Not-So-Fun Fact: When you die, your body's sphincter muscles relax, so any waste being held in by them...exits! It's only on TV, where such facts about death are unmentionably gross to the audience, that a dead body having *damp pants* would be a clue!

I love seeing the combination of hand-doubles, 'self-workers' and prop-based stuff used to give the impression of a 'master illusionist' in shows like this. The flawless card productions followed by a horrible false card castle and some DREADFUL 'pseudo sleight of hand'!

The gun was stolen from a wholesaler in San Francisco but kills this extortionist in Los Angeles...?! I would check the Nazi magician's touring schedule, including flight layovers, to see if he could have made that lift too -- not simply bought stolen merch off the street.
