YES, they have an IP rule in place, it's existed for several years now, it's right on their website. I pull my few fanart pieces every year before this con. Good to know!

i started selling art at cons in 2015, and for my first few years i heavily relied on making fan art b/c i thought it would bring attention to my other work.
but once my own creations became my focus, that's where i found success. fan art is fun but don't be afraid to make your own thing too! 🧡

This is probably the one likely to get me the most hate, but seriously. Make something of your own, I'm begging you. For your own good as well as ours, you have no control over what happens to an IP you don't own, and that's a huge risk to take (see: Harry Potter fanartists)

We’ve had this repeated to us in graphic design. Integrate styles from other designers and art movements as inspiration, but develop your own style at the same time. Being able to both emulate and create original work just makes you a better creative at the end of the day.
