In @theguardian.com today, Head of Policy Joanna Burton called for govt to recognise the sector's financial pressures and rethink the international levy, "a tax on unis that would add further burdens and restrict investment in students, research & communities.”

A new study funded by Alzheimer’s Society and led by Exeter has identified 3 medications that could be repurposed to treat or prevent Alzheimer’s disease. It found that a shingles vaccine, is the most promising existing medicine. Viagra and a MND drug also showed strong promise. tinyurl.com/4h36mhtu
