Today is the 5th anniversary of David Graber's death.

And with everything happening in the world, his work is now more relevant than ever before.

Published posthumously in 2023, Pirate Enlightenment is a book by David Graeber.

The book combines a lot of David Graeber's research on anthropology, history and ideas around democracy.

Recommended to read next to a coffee and maybe a doughnut!

Glad to see this book published. My chapter shows how the historiography of anti-colonial mobilisation & war in #Angola & #Mozambique has shifted from Cold War binaries to examine socio-political history & the position of the two states under global capitalism.

This BBC presenter resigned over its pro-Israel bias.

The language of the right is increasingly resembling the language of AI, and vice versa: words devoid of context, sensibility, history, memory or semantic complexity. Just think of their use of terms like "freedom" or "sex." Perhaps it's time to start thinking of them as "stochastic parrots."
