A musician—from Renaissance & Baroque to Rock—and Priesthood candidate in the Episcopal Church. I also enjoy reading, tv, film, MLB, NWSL, Premier League, and occasionally NFL.
My little dog looks dead, but she is a only sleeping. She just doesn’t have any teeth on that side of her mouth to hold her tongue in.

In what has been a rough week, here is something that made me laugh out loud

I never know what to do on a Monday holiday other than long-delayed chores.

Behind every large fortune is an equally large crime.

If you think that we are doomed or things cannot get better, check out ‘1971: The Year that Music Changed the World’, specifically the episode titled ‘The Revolution Will not be Televised’. I was not alive then, but things were more bleak in 1971 than they are now.

I was listening to OnPoint on NPR this afternoon, and they were talking about how hard it is to watch sports on broadcast tv because no one wants to buy a ‘digital antenna’. There is no such thing, it is just marketing BS.

I need an MRI. The cost here is $3500 (a strangely round number). A round-trip flight to London, a couple of hotel nights, and paying cash at a private clinic there would cost less than half of that.

Anyone who doesn't think our system is broken isn't paying attention.

Tomorrow I will be playing bass for a full show for the first time in over ten years. Since guitar has been my only regular stringed instrument since then, I found a short scale bass (30") just so the fret spacing would feel more familiar. Another great thing is that it fits in a case I have already

Recently, every time I go somewhere to grab a sandwich, everyone is rushing to prepare a bunch of to-go orders that are pilled onto a counter…yet I never see anyone coming in to pick them up.

For the last seven weeks, my band has played a show every weekend. This weekend, no show; and I have forgotten how to be home all weekend with ‘nothing to do’.

Proposition: how about we combine Memorial Day and Veterans Day into a single holiday like the entire rest of the Western world does on November 11 and just have a straight up Bank Holiday on the last Monday in May?

I love having a seasonal job. Today we start our summer service schedule, so I only work half-days on Sundays until Labor Day!

I live in South Carolina which recently passed an open carry law, and I have seen a few people open carrying. Don’t they know that if someone entered a public place wishing to do actual harm, the first thing they would do is shoot the guy with a gun on his hip?

I have received so many emails from businesses in the last week suggesting things to get/do for my mother on Mothers' Day. I have been sorely tempted to reply to all of them: "My mother is dead."

To be fair, I never thought I would be saying that at 42 years old.😑

Happy Mothers' day everyone!

I am not a medical professional, but how can a single person (like one of faux patients in annoying pharmaceutical commercials) have “moderate to severe” anything? Isn’t an individual’s condition either moderate or severe?

I know not why thou plaguest me this day
I know that I have done all things right
Still thou didst ruin mine image elsewise bright.
