A musician—from Renaissance & Baroque to Rock—and Priesthood candidate in the Episcopal Church. I also enjoy reading, tv, film, MLB, NWSL, Premier League, and occasionally NFL.
I wonder how many evangelical Christians realise that all this dispensationalist stuff was devised by a 19th century numerologist.

Incomptence in the White House is nothing new, historically; but what MAGA describes as the “deep state” at least kept the country from falling apart completely (except that one time).

Trump said he would “walk away” from talks if Putin did not agree to a ceasefire.

No surprise: no ceasefire and Trump said the meet was “highly productive”.

I think it must different the more local said leader is. Republicans in the State House were pretty quick to denounce him, ATK. Either that, or he was just a PITA to work with.

Great news, but 30k is still not a reasonable amount for the majority of Americans (even though a lot of people will convince themselves that they can afford a 30k vehicle). I have never had a new car and never paid more than 9k. If you start with a decent car repairs are way cheaper than a new one.

Not only was the President and Congress doing undemocratic things, but so were the governors of California and New York—and virtually everyone else.

I deleted my FB account in college when it became open to anyone. I have to confess to foreseeing the mess it would become.

He also comment that it was easy ‘back in the day’ to watch broadcast tv.(?) It is no harder today. Just connect an antenna (or coat hanger) to your TV and scan for channels.

Sources are not all equal. If thousands of peer-reviewed studies show one thing but 2 studies show the opposite, it is highly unlikely that those 2 studies could be used as legitimate evidence.

I have often thought that even if all of the theology were total crap, living Jesus’ teaching would not only lead to a happy life, but a better world.

As a postulant to the priesthood, I find that people are consistently shocked when I tell them that. It is a sad state of affairs when showing empathy and putting the needs of others above myself means that I couldn’t possibly be a Christian—even though those are the teachings of Jesus.

Truly equal protection under the law. If everyone actually had to follow all of the laws on the books in an equal way, there would be no draconian or invasive laws.
