I used to be cool and now I'm just...lukewarm.
I think it's funny how many people shorten the name of the "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" to just the "Macy's Day Parade," as if the day belongs to Macy's or something.

If my improv group jorts! gets the most donations we are going to rename the rehearsal space at Strike theater "The Jarage". Please help us do this remarkably silly thing

I know I'm probably not supposed to like Threads on here but every couple weeks or so it randomly decides to show one of my posts to like 5000 people and that *does* feel pretty neat.

Today we are the same distance from the Star Trek Deep Space Nine episode "Trials and Tribble-ations" as that episode was from the original "The Trouble with Tribbles." #startrek

Something I kind of love about the #minnesotastatefair is how people will just jump into conversations they have overheard.

I went there on Friday and had strangers jump in on the conversation topics of:

1. The fierce Midwestern loyalty to meteorologists
2. Why we still buy physical media

I feel like they should show a short adaptation of "Taylor the Latte Boy" before Wicked: For Good for a real mid-00s theater kid time

The fact that one of my college friends and a blogger I have been following for 15 years are interacting with each other like this blows my tiny mind
this is the original thread btw!!! bsky.app/profile/unwi...
Generative AI has helped me to understand why, in Star Wars, the droids seem to have personalities but are generally bad at whatever they're supposed to be programmed to do, and everyone is tired of their shit and constantly tells them to shut up

Yesterday a coworker told me "You are the only person I have seen use em dashes in their actual writing*" and honestly I'm taking it as a compliment.

It's amazing how lighter fluid is an objectively bad smell, and yet a whiff of it on the breeze and a head turn to see a charcoal grill brings up all kinds of wonderfully positive associations.

It is WILD how many years "in this economy?" has been a valid comic retort to a bold statement or minimally extravagant lifestyle choice.

I feel like the fact that my library has acquired 26 more copies of "They thought they were free" since I put it on hold February 8 is a good summary of how we're all feeling right now.

It's March 15, and a man walked into a coffee shop and Taylor Swift was working there as a barista.

He ordered his drink and then Taylor encourage him to try their new scones.

"If you ate one, I think you'd really like it," she said....

I have had Girl Talk's All Day album on repeat and I don't know if I've ever felt more millennial

My flight that I'm on had to move around the SpaceX launch range, but we happened to be passing by Boca Chica right as it launched!

I was on the wrong side of the plane so I missed the launch and only got pictures of the plume, but still, how cool!

Heard at an apartment today in Minnesota:
"When does the [outdoor] pool open?"
"In May"

When it smells like spring and the birds are going we all get a little crazy, I guess.

Does anyone know why Google weather shows a current temperature that is lower than the listed low for the day?

Every time I experiment with transcoding video I get sucked into a technical black hole.

Like surely that 24GB DNxHR file did not become a 300MB h.265 file without losing A TON of quality, right?

And why doesn't it work in Windows Media Player correctly?

I love that Bluesky is making a place where people have a respite from the other social media companies.

And I'm also worried that it's gonna just become the MSNBC of social media as well.

The Nvidia keynote at CES is both immensely cool and interesting and really dystopian feeling at the same time.

Might I admit that I do not understand what is up with the Winter Whiteout jerseys?

Is there a reason the Vikings are wearing them today aside from "they look cool and we can sell alternate jerseys?"

@ebroeffle.bsky.social It's like old times again. 2008 and I'm accepting your invite.
