Remember all my mad book drama?

(If not, buy me a pint and I'll sing you the ballad of the dodgy ex-publisher...)

Well, I'm absolutely delighted to say it's over!

An enormous thanks to my wonderful new publisher @manchesterup.bsky.social

Queer As Folklore will be back in the wild! 🧜🏼‍♂️
'Hey. ❤️ you big time. Night night.'

Is my:

'I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world'

I know it's not the point. But AI art has this really unique kind of ugliness to it. Even when it's vibrant, or convincing... when you look carefully there is this terrifying absence: Looking into the eyes of an AI avatar is like putting a small part of your soul into a meat grinder.

Delighted to be speaking close to home this coming weekend. If you're in and around Gloucester on Sunday 15th would be a DELIGHT to see you there!

Weird folk online: Greek mythology was full of beautiful white people. When adapted it needs to be cast only with beautiful white people!!! This is OUR heritage!!!

Actual Greek mythology: Just... like... SO much incest.

When I do corporate queer history talks I always feel like a scrappy little Orphan from a Dickens novel.

'Cor blimey guvnah, you got fizzy wa'er from a tap? Why, sandwiches wiv the corners all cut orff! Wow, its like wot 'eaven must look like! Narr, a whole lanyard... for me?!!!'

Yes. The left can be a bit annoying and cringe... but you know what's worse than annoying and cringe?!

This LGBT+ History Month, pick up a celebration of queer history like you've never seen it before. To truly understand who queer people are today, we must confront the twisted tales of the past.

30% off as part of our @lgbthm.bsky.social promotion until 28th Feb.

I should not be allowed to 'network' alone.
Yesterday at a preview I confidently walked up to a man I recognised but could not remember where from... As we were talking I realised I didn't actually know him. So for five whole minutes I long-form apologised and then walked away.

Went to @queerbritain.bsky.social private view last night. This was the piece that hit the hardest.

Part of a quilt memorial to those who died during the HIV crisis.

Here's to one day revealing the beautiful life beneath this panel and celebrating him for who he was. X

I'm coming up with a new DnD campaign character which is complete wish fulfillment... what if your beloved childhood authors didn't turn out to be regressive bigots or woolly centrists? Wild eh?!!
