Just took a pause mid-final-chapter to run to the restroom/refresh my drink...and when I sat back down, I noticed my word count...

Apparently the reason we've been stuck on the next #DarkSkyValley book is b/c she hates it, its timeline, & potentially its plot. Loves the characters & prologue.

She wants me to scrap the whole thing & start fresh.

And after talking with @patjohnstonpa.bsky.social we are now DEFINITELY splitting it up...and leaving book 1 on a horrible cruel cliffhanger and...yeah.

Oh, and titles were already baked into the original book so that's done, too. Now, to finish writing...including a brand new chapter now.

When my mom passed a year ago (around 12:30AM tonight)...it was an event caused/exacerbated by her COPD. I swore then that I would officially quit smoking for good...AFTER dealing with her death. It took until July...but I did it. I quit cold turkey the day before we left for CO. 4 months clean.

I just made homemade sweetened condensed milk...and it's SO GOOD. Better than canned.

My boss looked at the schedule surgery and said...you know what? You don't need to be here in the AM, you'll just be sitting around for a few hours.

Suffering through a pretty huge grief strike today. Started last night. Been on the verge of tears all day. I know I'm coming up on the 1st anniversary for mom & just passed the 5th for dad...but yowza. This weekend wasn't anything.
