We’re running an end of year campaign to finish up our renovation! We’ve raised about $100k so far, and have another $50k of expenses budgeted to get the place open and suitable for performance and exhibition again.

A classic @emmaruthless.bsky.social joint in that it does so many things so well and leaves you feeling both gutted and galvanized.
It is too on the nose for the most beloved bodega cat in the Mission to get killed by a Waymo. It’s a heartbreaking and deeply cliché entry in the annals of San Francisco gentrification commentary. Delete it, please, and try again.

10 years ago I interviewed Marielle Heller and Bel Powley in a Fairmont Hotel suite. I biked up the hill because I was a dumb baby journalist and as I asked them questions in that beautifully appointed room, the heat of my sweating face kept fogging up my glasses.

A friend is taking a language class where they do a paired exercise of asking each other "why?," toddler-style, over and over to get at new words, new ways of expressing basic ideas.
