Pronouncing vowels in deep Scottish follows the same logic as how white Midwesterners turn perfectly normal names like Riley into Rhyeleiugh

Waking up to a bunch of memes about Kendrick dropping and then doing my morning chores while going track by track was such a perfect Friday morning
Biking down the street I've been working on for over 4 years for the last time, trying not to get emotional, failing.

I've always found the convergent developments of the video game and music industries interesting.

AAA games are the equivalent of pop music - meant for mass consumption, meant to appeal to as many demos as possible, minimal creative risk.
I think the enormous budgets of AAA games force them to target as broad an audience as possible while taking as few risks as possible, resulting in them largely becoming bland
Someone said "You start feeling like youre in your 30s the minute you turn 27" and like fucking mood. The last 2.5 years have been a nonstop "omg my 30s /pos /neg /excited /shitting myself"

It has been a, uh, difficult week but I have not laughed louder and harder at something in a very long time than at this.
Yeah hard agree. I think the body positivity movement has a lot of merit and has done a lot of good but it gets applied too reductively and absolutely to be useful in many cases, and in any event, is a 100% *personal* framework
Like I fully agree with the idea of killing the skinny person in your head etc etc, but especially for me, as someone that bikes a lot, etc, my current weight and figure isn't one I'm fully satisfied with and for people to insist you "have to be okay with your body as it is" is just as reductive
Cheaper clothes is so fucking real, I would kill to be able to go to a thrift store and have a wider range of clothes to choose from
Though mainly my motivation is just to be more athletic. I hate feeling like I can't move my body in the way that I want and know am capable of
Those are the big dysmorphia regions for me, really. Belly is what it is, but the side boob and the lower back handles arent my favorite features for sure
Same, I'm about 6'3-4, so it just looks like I'm Built™ with a shirt that fits right to hide the fact that it's more drywall than masonry atm
Yeah, I'm starting a new job next week that'll make getting proper gym time in more possible, and I'm looking forward to doing a bunch of HIIT to try and burn some of the side boob away
Tbf id already put on some pounds from pandemic era slack and also not being ready for the Metabolic Shift™

I may have licked 290-300 at my heaviest, but I sure hope not. Sitting around 275-ish rn, would love to push down to below 225 if I can do that while gaining a little more muscle
Probably 50 tbf, numbers are hard and I don't own a scale
Big mood, went from 10-12mi per day dogwalking back to retail and then racked up like 75lbs lol
TDF cyclists' breakfast is generally 4x body weight (in grams) of carbs or so. It's crazy.
Honestly it makes sense for an Olympic swimmer to shovel carbs compared to high protein or fat, especially if they keep it low fiber
Like that's about what Tour de France riders take in daily too
Also did some very loose Quick Maffs on Brian Shaws total calorie intake up there (how many servings is a shovelful??) and it's easily 9k cal/day.

Bonkers, but when you're over 400lbs of mostly muscle that is what it takes
Oh for sure, I would smash those "nutritionally complete" protein shakes as my breakfast for a while, I just have a weird semantic hangup on calling it a meal, but I fully recognize that's my weird brain hangup over arbitrary categories
