LGBTQ+ youth are disproportionately at risk of homelessness — we’re not just offering a bed for the night. We're rebuilding trust, creating futures, and making sure every young person knows: you belong, exactly as you are.

🚨 Last year, The Welsh Government estimated between 6,000-7,000 young people reached out for help with homelessness...We are providing comfort, possibility and independence but we can't do it alone.

You can help by sharing this post and showing you stand with Llamau in ending youth homelessness💙
Very proud of all my @llamau.bsky.social and Cardiff Women’s Aid colleagues who have worked tirelessly to both enable the merger to happen and ensuring seamless and high quality support continued uninterrupted.

We continue to be absolutely committed to end violence against women and girls.
Llamau and Cardiff Women’s Aid have officially merged, united by our mission to end homelessness and abuse for women, children and young people in Wales.
Together, we’ll reach more people with the specialist support they deserve.

Great article. So true!
I’ve had the pleasure to meet Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas a number of times. He was always genuinely interested in the work of Llamau, always very kind and very supportive.
Thinking of his family and friends.
“He can rightly be called our Senedd’s founding father. We mourn his loss and hold his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.” Y Llywydd, Elin Jones MS

Flags will fly at half-mast outside the Senedd, following the death of the parliament’s first Presiding Officer, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas.

1 YEAR OF 20MPH

There were around 100 fewer people killed / seriously injured on 20/30mph roads.

Casualties from July-Sept was the lowest Q3 figures in Wales since records began.

Over the year the number of casualties on 20/30mph roads is 28% lower than the year before.

Good policy making.
Shocking news. In particular I can’t get my head round closing the nursing school?! In the capital city with a huge health board which has nursing shortages?
If anything demonstrates the need to enshrine in law the right to adequate housing and the importance of protecting funding for early intervention & prevention services, it’s this:

Temporary accommodation possible factor in deaths of 74 children in England
