i think people being unable to recognize that their feelings will always matter more than their perception of a “good” video game is what leads to people making silly thinkpieces like: “a 5/10 is way less interesting than a 1/10” like. Dude. The 5/10 in question *is* a 1/10 to you

striving for “AGI” is deeply fucked up to me. you want to create a sentient existence so it can be your servant? arguing something like chatgpt is already there is laughable but if *was* there the implication is that it’s actually ok and awesome to have a sentient slave robot cuz uhh Productivity

i don’t think there is some intrinsic soul to humanity that could NEVER EVER be recreated. i believe that making true artificial intelligence is theoretically possible. i also think it shouldn’t happen on like a moral level

i’ve actually been thinking a lot about the actual implications of the idealistic “real artificial intelligence” recently and i think even though i hate the generative models we have now a lot i do think my general ideas about these things might be slightly more nuanced than the popular opinion?
